Oulton and Shell Corner.

Hi guys.

Does anyone know if Shell corner is or will be re-open for track days soon ?

There on the 30th with Javelin and struggling to find an answer, even when i called Oulton today

I pushed my trip back to 6th April as I was told it will be done by the end of March. The corner itself is fine, it's the runoff they are having issues with. It's extremely muddy and if you go off at Island Bend you'll get stuck (as someone did last week).

If the weather stays dry and mildly warm it might be ok.

Probably won't be for the week after with MSV either after speaking to Oulton.

Ah crap, I'll contact MSV today and see what they say. I've already moved this date twice annoyingly :/

At least the cost of a track day there should be cheaper as the circuit is less to hire.

"We are being told track works will be finished and back to the full layout by the end of the month, therefore the 6th April event will run the full track."

MSV are frequently assessing/forecasting the site conditions. Moving target me thinks. 'Final' date seems on the move constantly.

The weather forecast for the Easter weekend is not good, so again the infield at Island Bend is unlikely to dry out!! I like the Island Circuit, it makes a pleasant change!!!

I raced there last weekend. The ground is currently just mud, so I'm guessing they need the grass to grow to some extent before opening that section.

Gutted as I do most of my overtakes on the exit of shell corner and don't want to change dates as I now have 80L of petrol sat I'm my garage grrr
