'bing' when I get near my home.

So since buying my car in September 2014 it has made a 'bing' noise on the road to my house. It does it at a different point depending on the speed, and it also does it when leaving.

The command system shows a round area near my house.

But it really bugs me as i dont know why it does it, obviously the car knows where it lives.... but so do I! so why is it telling me?

18 months of the daily why is finally enough, who knows?

Just turn it off if it bugs you. That's what I did.

How? and any idea why mercedes think we need to know we are near our house? is the average merc driver so old and senial they dont know where they live?

My Kia does that, when I remember my smartphone, it tells me it's connected to the home WiFi, is there any similar technology in Mercedes cars? Serious question, I drive a Kia.

You've added a personal POI, I'd guess. Goes bong, cuts the radio/music but displays nothing. Delete the POI.

Comand doesn't do speed cameras, without a lot of pissing around.... you'd probably know if it had been done.

Mine only bings for POIs that are labelled warning, does your personal POI .gpx file contain the part of a line:

Activity Active=true Level=warning Unit=second Value=30

This is for for the last pre-Garmin version of Comand

The bing is from a personal POI that has been set - go into your personal POI's and delete it, that should stop the bing.
