I had a stroke last week, didn't know what the f**k was going on, my mate took me home from work and I went straight to bed, when my wife came up to see me she phoned an ambulance, the treatment I got from the ambulance men and the staff at both Salford (hope) and Bolton royal hospitals was fantastic, couldn't fault that.

The only pain I suffered was a banging headache, kept taking paracetamol which did nothing.

Anyway it was a very small stroke (tia) and I should be ok, already have Epilepsy, my mate just thought it was that.

Making me think about mortality, length of life that sort of thing, 60 years old in a few weeks, ah well, have to get ready for all the tests I suppose, bit of time off work, few lie ins, I suppose it could have been a lot worse, count my blessings etc.

Hi hal1,

sorry to hear about your TIA. It must be very disconcerting.

If it is any help, two family members have had TIAs. Both made very good recoveries. Made them reconsider lifestyle, health etc.

All the best.

You'll probably get a load of advice on changing your lifestyle. TIAs in themselves aren't a danger but they are obviously a precursor to something bigger if whatever has caused it continues to exist. Good luck.
