So I have to replace the hideous alloys that are on my S. New to this side of the forum as I am also a Wedger. Has anyone done anything with 17s?

Can I also confirm
4 x 108 pcd
et25

Anyone no the center bore?

Were the V8s alloys the same as the V6 as standard?

Cheers

The S was designed to run 15 inch wheels and the amount of sidewall compliance helps the ride. Some are running 17 inch and their comments on ride and handling would be interesting. At the end of the day it depends on finding a wheel which you like. Some of the boys, such as Phillpot and Scoobimax are running minilite replicas with a greater offset than standard and the style suits the car.

I've got 45 profile 17 inch alloys on mine and I would say the ride is somewhere between 'sporty' and rough. I'm keen to stick it back on 15 inch OZ 8 Spokes on both for a smoother ride and aesthetics, so if anyone has a set in very good condition...

They've been on there for yonks, presumably because everyone agrees that he is asking waaaayyy to much considering the condition they are in; would need diamond cut before going on the car! The rubber is also the wrong profile for an S, so would have to fork out a couple of hundred quid for that too...

Bargain!

As the price of our cars gets inflated, then it follows that the price of spares will go up as well. We can't have it both ways.

I like the wheels on Garv 17" but the
handling was definitely better on my old
S1 with 15" wheels

Might be worth you looking through this thread, when this issue was discussed at length last time.

If you still have your S1, why not swap them over for a while? I think your old wheels with the black centers might look good against white.

this is mine on 17s - the 15s won't fit over my AP4pots without large spacers

I also have these 17s

Mine now sits on 16" with a slightly lower profile which i find better than the old 15" with baloon tyres.......not as much roll through the bends and far more stable at higher speed. Also looks more of a standard fitment IMO.

Took a lot of thought over these, but if interested they are Lenso 16 x 7.5 rims.

Have Bridgestone Potenza RE002 225x50x16 rears and 205x50x16 front.

Speedo largely unaffected by rolling distance.

Set of TVR centre stickers and they look like original OZ split rims.
