Hi All,

A few months ago i was in Dubai and had a 458 Spider for the day, managed 420 miles in it, including mountain roads.

Its quite likely i will be back there next month, this time i was thinking of trying the Huracan, however its a hard top. They also have a Gallardo LP560 Spyder. The cars are both a same price for the day..... The only time we had the top down on the 458 was when blasting up and down the Jebel Hafeet Mountain and at night when in Dubai....but the noise was so good with the roof off.

So driving wise, is there a huge difference between the G and H?

Thoughts?? - Will be city, motorway, and mountain road driving.

Cheers
Jay

Oh just found out the Gallardo is a Performante. Does that change your opinion guys?

Im guessing the Gallardo will be alot more fun, and raw?

Probably 1hr 45 min driving on the motorway to destination 1, then maybe another 1hr 45 back, and then just exploring and stuff.

Last time the 458 Spider (roof up) gave the misses a migrane from the drone on the motorway, so i would really like to avoid that. Although i would like to drive the G as its probably a car id like to get at some point, well a SuperL MK1.

Odd that they are the same price. A friend and I hired the 458 Spider with the same company directly on the back of your own recommendation on that thread (we followed in the same footsteps of doing jebel hafeet too!).

When I was enquiring with him the G was 3200 AED and the Huracan 4000 AED. (to you, brother wink)

Having a spyder will make a big difference to the noise appreciation factor. The Huracan will be much more refined, quicker and easier to drive but if the sun is out you may regret not having the roof down option. I've just bought a late LP-560 Spyder rather than an early Huracan simply for this reason. That V10 needs to be heard so until I have the funds for a Huracan Spyder I'm sticking with the LP.

How was it?

They are saying 3500dhs for Huracan or the G Performante. Along with some returning customer discount. Yes brother hehe

Roof off time will be the mountain roads, which is maybe an hour. Then the rest of the time will be roof up, apart from late night after dinner. That's what we did with the 458, apart from after dinner the wife had to go bed. So this time I'd rather not give her a migraine.

Windows down on a couple normally has a lot of wind noise.

Oh decisions.

The G will be old, heavy and nasty. The Huracan just boring.

Stick with F or better still hire a GT3.

I guess I could see what they have, but don't fancy one to be honest for this trip. Just doesn't sit exotic with me.

That's exactly what I want but not all day, just at certain times when I am pressing on.

Nasty ????? I have never heard any Gallardo described as that ever.

And if you don't want it to be raw and involving then best avoid any GT Porsche.

I'd dismiss any thought of Porsche while they are great drivers cars there are few that can be described as an occasion!. I'd go with the Huracan on the basis of you're doing a proportion of city driving and the gearbox is as good as it gets. Just remember to open the windows when you get moving and listen to that V10.
It'll be interesting to hear your opinion of how well the Lambo is received in comparison to the F car.

Enjoy.

Not really the place to judge that to be honest. Neither likely to get much attention in Dubai. Perhaps a little more in Al Ain but perhaps one of few places on earth where eyes are barely turned by either an F car or a Lambo.

sold my gallardo spyder last year and got a huracan last month, If you want to pose and have wind in your hair take the spyder. If you want a loony car that stops, pulls and goes rounds bend on rails and can actually be scary because of what its capable of the try the huracan!!!!
