Windage Tray Yes or No?

Do any of the TVR engines use a bolt-on windage tray?

Any pro's and/or Con's in using one or even fitting one?

combined with a baffled sump they are good thing. not that the average road going Tiv will see the benifit of it but track day car would. J.E. baffled sump comes with one as std iirc.

I have a baffled sump and a windage tray.

The sump is fitted to the car and works well, (no issues during TDs).

The tray is on the shelf in the garage waiting for suitable time to fit it :roll eyes:

If you aren't considering seriously tracking the car, don't bother!

They seem to be standard in a interim Range Rover...

This is a new sump cover (fitted to a previous engine that was never run) I have this for a new build I'm working on :-).

Is this the same as fitted to the TVR Serp interim?



I have a donor 96 Range Rover engine for the Dizzy Front cover and it also has a Windage tray. I was wondering if it would make sense to use it with the new sump cover (assuming they will fit together)? I would like to think I could track it in the future so while I'm busy with the build I was hoping for some guidance/advice :-)

The original sump as fitted to my 2000 Chimaera 4.6 or 450 Serp engine.

I've replaced mine for a standard capacity baffled sump and so far I've not seen my oil pressure drop in corners but then I'm not teally able to focus on the darn gauge,

Excellent, so, the new sump cover I have is correct as a standard TVR part (albeit mine doesn't have the hammer marks 'yet', I thought the hammer was used on 500's+ only?)

Given that there is a built in windage tray(of sorts) in the sump is there any benefits to using the range rover windage tray that bolts onto the bottom of the engine too?





Thoughts anyone?
