Has anybody and idea why there seems to be a problem fitting a tow bar to a Q7 with Panoramic Sunroof? Lots of listings for towbars on ebay but all of them say "not panoramic roof models".....help!

what an odd combination to not permit a towbar ... incidentally I hope not as I have literally done a deal on a my2010 Q7 4.2 this afternoon and want a towbar for the jetski!!

"Towing bracket – electrically folding.** Electrically folding ball head operated via button in the luggage
compartment, including trailer stabilisation via the Electronic Stability Programme. Includes single 13-pin electric
socket. Please contact your local Audi Centre if you require a 13- to 7-pin adaptor*"

"**When ordering Stainless steel running boards (YNB) with a Sunroof (3FU/3FV) and Electric trailer towing hitch (1D9) then Deletion of third seating row (5KM) must be added."

However:

"Towing equipment – removable. Factory-fitted and removable. Includes single European 13-pin electrical socket
and may require a 13- to 7-pin adaptor. Please consult your Audi Centre for details*"

...no such stipulation on the removable swan-neck it seems.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think it's a homogenisation weight thing.

Have a 2008 4.2 TDI with Pan Roof and removable tow bar. The tow bar was factory fitted. I am not sure how the panoramic roof hinders the tow bar fitment, but as Dr G states, it may be something to do with the electrically folding one as an afterthought.

On the Witter Site, this seems to be the one that doesn't stipulate the non-panoramic roof setup http://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/product_review.php...
