.....you take the bonnet off

I have decided to bring forward the job of removing the bonnet for it's TLC as the weather is so bad. Now whilst it's off I thought that I would do a few other little jobs.

Clean, paint and treat the front chassis
Clean up the engine and engine bay
Tidy the cables
Reseal any entries to the bulkhead
Paint the swirl tank

Are there any other jobs which I should do whilst the car is in this state of undress?

Thanks Steve

Hi steve,

Do you need to take the bonnet off for these jobs? I find that if I put the car on ramps / axel stands you can open the bonnet to pretty much 90 degrees! Saves having to re-align it afterwards as well.

It has to come off to repair three cracks and to improve on a previous owner repair, the listed jobs are for me to do whilst it's off. Sorry not very clear from the first post

I`ve just done the same jobs on mine, and while the bonnet was of found it easier to grease up the steering rack, and behind the rubber gators, just more accessable all round.

Check/replace connectors to the front lights, quite likely they'll be badly corroded.
