We have several pitches lined up for April but as yet dont have a name or structure.

Basically if you boil the ethos of what we are doing it is helping a business sell more products or services or retain business by whatever means we can think of.

As what we can do is so diverse I favour a "group" ie "The Help You Group" and within that is the strands of the business for online, offline and analysis etc all would have a name such as "Helpuonline" (these are generic names to get my point across we are not the "help you group" !!!) helpuretaine, helpuconvert etc out of the three of us we each would head up different strands of the business but the overall revenue share is a top level pot hence the "Help You Group"

I am tying myself up in knots trying to get my head around this - any pointers?

To me , all these business names using made up words sound a bit unprofessional, a bit like a hairdresser or discount store. I'd be far more likely to respond to a couple of surnames and a single word similar to a legal or accountancy practice, for example 'Rodger, Shaftem & Partners'. You could then follow up with a second part such as 'Marketing Consultants' for each of the different business streams.

Annually Retentive?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Two options - go bold "GROW" and sub brands of "GROWonline" "GROWcustomers", etc

or generic but hint at the positive, e.g. "Advantage Services" and then just layer any messaging below that.

I agree - those names are tacky.

I'd be thinking about the market that you will be dealing with and calling myself a customer service consultant or something.

Do the likely clients have drivers for improvement over and above sales? Are there compliance/regulatory drivers? What are their metrics?

Depends what level you want to pitch yourselves at IMO. Something with your names I agree sounds good, but I'd also consider you expensive, only because it's a naming convention professional services use, which are rarely cheap. So perfect if you're aiming at enterprise level clients.

Personally I'd keep it simple with something like The Commerce Group.

Clever, but maybe too clever - these things have to be memorable for google, etc.

Ah, you know Andrew. Nice bloke, excellent quality.

Always found 'Avalon' to be a great name.

His dads shop was next to our alarm company on Wallasey road before we moved to Pasture road - yes great welder, great gates.

So are you a sort of management consultancy?

What about something like The Business Doctors or similar?

Problem is and its well documented on here that whilst my partner is a proper ecommerce consultant I am "just" someone who has sold stuff which is selling myself slightly short but thats all I do think of ways to get an item or service sold. I dont feel qualified to be anyones doctor.
Latest one is a home cleaning service for dog owners using dog friendly chemicals (local Liverpool business so we are looking to work with local breeders and maybe leaflet outside pets at home etc).
The apprentice guy with CLIMBONLINE I thought was good bit others dont agree.

Me neither. You would expect that company to be an internet mountaineering clothing company.

Just to clarify, then, if you were cold calling a business to use your services, what would you say? i.e. how would you describe your company in a one line sales pitch?

That terrifies me, luckily I have been a passive sales person for over 20 years however if I was cold calling a company.

"Hello were the "Growmore group" we believe we can add value to your business and operate a shared revenue plan based on incremental sales can we call in and discuss it?"

Sounds bloody awful but so far its been working admittedly with people I have worked with or for in the past.

Ah I get it.
What about Revenue Partners/Growth Partners or similar? With your fee being based on results I think "Partners" is an appropriate term.

What about suchandsuch consulting? I'm not a fan of the fancy names you mentioned before probably because they always cold call me.

Keeps it generic and you can do what ever you want under the umberella.
