TVR Cheaper than Vauxhall
Discussion
Well for replacement CV boots anyway…
I am changing the diff mounting bushes at the moment, but as well as an oil leak from the diff & a damper, I found one of the CV joint boots had almost split. After a quick call to the ever-helpful Andy at APM I had all the answers. It seems GSI Carlton boots are a direct fitment, I tried a few places but no one stocked them so I tried Vauxhall parts dept: £57 for the boot grease & fittings. TVR parts dept £23... I’m not sure that includes the grease & fittings but still
Anyone got any ideas why, I don’t want to bother Andy again & don’t mind paying £23 to TVR, but I am curious. He said the Vauxhall parts would be half the price of TVR, as you’d expect, I can’t think he gets that much trade discount so where should I be looking? Other than TVR I’ve only ever bought German car parts before.

In my very limited experinece so far (ribbon cable, gearbox seal) the consumables are fairly reasonably priced from TVR, its the little black boxes and instruments you'll pay an arm and a leg for..... that said when my old MR2 developed engine problems Toyota took the car for 7 weeks and then presented me with a bill for £1400 - to replace one exhaust valve - GO INDEPENDENT I SAY............ or do it yourself

I resprayed my girlfriends mini pink/white
but I really doubt I'd be brave enough to touch the Cerb.....
He he, its north vs south now......... Joolz vs Andy
or probably more like
I am totally for the DIY thing - the more attention you can give your Cerb the better. Hey... I have an 'understanding' girlfriend' so I can get away with it

All I can tell you is that I have fitted them and they seem to fit just like the old ones, dont think there is anything special about my cerbs drive shafts. Car is a late 2000 speed 6 model however I though they were the same for all models ?
Each also came with a packet of grease and the metal bands to fix the boots
Email me if you want the motor factors I sourced them from, they may post or have a branch near you ?

JayB YHM Thanks for your help with this.
I may well be giving Joolz a call anyway as we are after some new suspension, see my other post.
