Good evening all,
Does anyone know how to check the small valves in each exhaust that I noticed today, I have found pictures that appear they are connected to a vac pot of sorts, but have never seen these valves move. They can be seen from rear of car through vents below rear lights, and this is a stock 2011 V10 R8, anyone got any knowledge of how to make them move just to check the serviceability ?? Thanks in advance

Assuming they are vacuum controlled, they should be open when the car starts, then quickly close when vacuum builds up ?

Good Afternoon, that was my thoughts that after cold start they would move, but not sure they did, will try again today and look closer. Thanks for the reply.

Not always the case, for example 355 defaults to closed if vacuum not working whereas 360 defaults to open.
If your after more noise then you can always wire open.

Hey, thanks for the answer, I'm not after more noise, just wanted to know it was working, more curious than anything, but the guys at Audi seemed in the dark about the idea. Will check it out on start up. Thanks

They are in the dark about most things. I tried to buy a V10 from an Audi dealer a while back and the customer service was truly diabolical.

Never a truer word spoken about Audi Techs and R8's, they do seem a little erm....Dim when it comes to this particular car, maybe that was just one dealership ?? I may sell my V10 this year if you're still after one ? Very low mileage manual 2010 at 15k with full stamped main dealer history (For whats its worth ?)

Arrived yesterday. Roads too wet to explore it properly, but one thing I can confirm - very quick car!

A friend of mine has a 2012 V10 with a left hand side frond head lamp not working. The OPC told him they could change the LED bulb for about 80 quid, then they discovered it was sealed unit and the headlamp unit was £2000 plus 80 labour. Eeeeek!
