996 turbo 100 or 200 CEL exhaust?
Discussion
First off, hello fellow porsche fans. I'm after a bit of advice, I've got a bog standard 996 Turbo, well it has Forge diverter valves on it, and I need to change the exhaust. I can't decide if I should get 100 CEL or 200 CEL exhaust put on it. If I udnerstand this right I need a remap if I get 100 CEL and not if I get a 200 CEL. But if I get 100 CEL plus a remap would I also need to change other things, for example the clutch?
Oh and is there anywhere in Leeds or surrounding area I can a remap from ?

Hey.
In Leeds area you could approach Wayne at Chip Wizards, you would need to
google his number. Be very careful who you let map the car.....Ask them all
about it, then come back on the forum and report before they go near it, aside
Wayne that is.
Alternatively a 4hr run see you down at 9e in Kent with a fat wallet, your run home
a few days later would be life changing. For me they are an 8hr shunt at best each
way, though one day I do hope to take it back to them, they cared for it for 6 years
with previous keeper and is a superb car.
Why do want a map?
The standard clutch will not last long after the map in my opinion. The suggested order for me
with mods would be to get the right map into the ECU and have fitted a Sachs 890 nm clutch
that will handle the power and never need done again under road use. Then would you start
thinking about an exhaust. Also, there is a lot of cheap crap out there exhaust wise, it looks
good as its been copied, however the internals are low end, I have heard scenarios where a car
goes slower with less boost etc after a cheap exhaust fitted.
To get the right flash, the clutch done so you can use and enjoy that power and a good exhaust
that will breathe correctly and add to the experience will set you back 5 to 6k.
Its easy to look online at a cheap exhaust at 600 quid and have the car mapped round the corner
by a nobody for another few hundred. The reality is you wont have anything close to the potential
and you could wear the engine prematurely.
And not suggesting you were going to cheapskate it, though it happens..
Hope this is of help

Exhaust manufacterer recommends a remap with the 100 CEL exhaust hence my question. As I intend to slowly build up the power I thought the 100 CEL would be a good one to use however happily to be corrected on this. If I do get the 200 CEL one I don't need a remap apparently.
9e is to rich for me at the moment but the car does need a new exhaust mainly out of necessity rather than choice.

AFAIK this is sound advice.google his number. Be very careful who you let map the car.....Ask them all

Wayne did my car, as part of work being done when it was in at Sports and Classic. Mike would only use Wayne. I've also spoken to one of the very well-reputed indie sales specialists and they certainly would be happy to handle mapped turbo done by Wayne. HTH
