Having just taken the decision to move into the world of Charcoal, I've purchased a Weber along with this:

I can't wait til it turns up - going to try the 3-2-1 ribs method first, but am so looking forward to the benefits this rather simple invention is going to bring to my bbq'ing. I was contemplating various Kamado BBQs, but this solution is so much cheaper and provides what appears to be identical output.

Yes it's a very similar idea!!

From what I've read the temps stay consistent for the entire day (or night!), meaning no need to continually monitor the thing - enabling smoking to just work! Can't wait!

I saw that on amazingribs.com, also thinking of getting a Weber kettle for this year, did you get that in the UK or are you importing it? When I looked on the site the delivery cost to the UK was almost as much as the thing itself.

PS Stomach also rumbling....

I'm importing it. I'll post back the total cost (inc customs) when I get it. Cost so far has been roughly £100 (inc shipping). Will prob get stung another 20-30 customs. Not great, but I intend to have it for years!

My weber came with an implement for holding the coals on one side, didn't yours?
