OK, mortgage offer received a couple of weeks ago, solicitor has just gone to apply for the funds to be told it's under review !!!!!

My broker calls banks to be told it's an admin 'blip', sorted now and money should be on the way - Phew!

Solicitor calls bank just to be on safe side to be told it's with underwriter awaiting signoff

Can anyone help me understand the process? I know it's out of my hands but has anyone encountered this? The mixed messages are the most frustrating... and we need to complete before end of the month to avoid the extra stamp duty and with Easter in the way, and with a five working day turnaround on the money this is getting to close for comfort

I feel your pain! Im in the same boat trying to beat the raise, have two going through.

Spent the past few days dealing with the apparent difficulty both mortgage company and solicitors office where having in sending emails to each other successfully. Deed of transfers now gone in, 7 day turn around but Im told they are working hard to get it done in time. The delay caused by the email problem may cost me the same as a brand new hatchback. So frustrating!

Out of interest which mortgage company?

Not limited to just BTL's.........if the number of properties you will own at completion is going up, you'll be paying an extra 3% stamp come 1st April....

Unfortunately within 30 mins of posting the above my solicitor called to inform me the mortgage company now want further details in regard to planning, need a certificate of lawful use. This is all news to me and the sellers dont know what Im talking about..... Both houses are within view of a 100 year old university and have been HMO's for decades. I think this delay means I will be paying the additional stamp duty. Frustrating that this wasnt brought up during the application and has only been requested after the deed of transfer has been submitted, was hoping to complete on the 29th.
