Please help.
I want to at least be half decent at fifa 16 but im awful. My friend comes round and keeps wooping me and its just putting me off playing anymore unless something changes.
My main problems seem to be, as soon as i get to his penalty box he seems to have every player surrounding me so i either get tackled or take a wild shot and never get it in.
When he gets to my penalty box no players are ever there he always has loads of wide open space.
Also when tackling a player is it best to hold circle or tap it? Or hold the jockey button? I dont know the difference.

Play it like you would a real life game of football.
Keep possession and make him come to you, that will create space then just work your way up the park, if your unable to skin a player on FIFA use LB and a for a one two or use 3 players and pass the ball round them like a triangle shape.
It's all about making space and being quick to get up the park

When tackling players i find X to be the most useful (honestly) I am a very aggresive player, hight pressure, hard tackles. People usually find this very frustrating as i'm upon them in a flash sliding in with david luiz!
And around the box, try 1-2's... Lb+A makes the passer make a run after playing the ball and simply play him in again...

I'm crap at it as well, I get tonked every time by my grandsons, they are 16 & 12, it's very annoying. I'm 55 and can see no way to remedy the situation until they hit the same age, now all I have to do is last another 40 odd years and hope my hand/eye coordination remains at roughly the same level

I think the key for me on this version is the in game tactics and taking a bit of time setting up your team. F15 seemed tobe all about pace pace pace. that won't work this time because defending is so much harder.
have your highest SHO rating for strikers - pace and passing aren't as important but shooting is so for example I have an all spanish team in FUT 5-4-1 with costa up front.
as much as possible play the ball the way your face as you get it. oppos will come in to tackle you so receiving and turning with the ball is too slow. so play the ball one touch away from you, often draws a tackle and a booking. equally a simple 360 turn often creates a bit of space.
getting wide and firing crosses in invariable won't work either - heading is difficult and keeper rush will cut out low and driven crosses - instead try early crossing from wide or fake cross.
switch the play - long passes across the pitch in midfield spread the play.
its always more difficult to play against real opponents than the game although world class is pretty difficult these days.
in career mode I start in div 2 on semi pro and increase the difficulty of opponent for each division above in cup games and each promotion. so div 1 would be professional etc, championship world class etc....
