Suitcase to fit 981 Cayman
Discussion
Picking up a Cayman GTS in a couple of weeks and have planned a 2 week European tour at the end of June. Has anyone bought suitcases that fit all the available space, that didn't involve paying the sky high Porsche prices? I know lots of squashy bags is probably ideal but we would like a suitcase, or two, for the frunk.
Thanks

Although the frunk won't hold a large suitcase it will hold two medium suitcases and odds and sod easily enough. A further medium suitcase can go over the engine if you need it and a airport hand-luggage size case will fit in the rear boot.
The fitted luggage shown has a notable advantage of being easier to get out of the frunk - but small cases won't satisfy my OH because things get creased. Personally I am required keep the cases horizontal for that reason - and the bottom one is a bit of a pain to get out of the frunk.
I think you'll find there is perhaps more space than you expect and you probably won't need to pack the car to the absolute limit unless your OH travels particularly heavily, so I'd do a bit of suck it and see before splashing out. There is at least as much boot space in total as something like a Golf.

Many thanks for your suggestions. Those Amazon cases look good but there is quite a negative review of the quality of them.
I did read those reviews too, but you could buy 3 sets of those for the price of one of the official Porsche ones. I'm still looking, so will keep you posted if I find anything that's half decent.http://www.cabriostore.nl/index.php?item=koffer-po...

Found the manufacturers website and they are cheaper

Those at

look just the job. That 4 piece set works out at roughly £320, that would probably be £2000ish from Porsche.
Many thanks

I'll let you suggest that to her.... She might find an alternate use for the iron.Buy her a traveling iron

Well I eventually bought these through eBay:

The quality is very good and they fit a treat. There is still enough space for a large sports bag in the boot and a suit carrier over the engine.
I ordered on a Friday, the goods were dispatched on the Monday and with me by Thursday.

Like Mr Dreds I have bought the 981 Roadsterbags although I got them direct from the manufacturer as it was a bit cheaper.

I bought a Pierre Cardin soft sided suitcase with wheels and extendable handle before I had my 981 and it fits exactly at the top of the froot, with a standard cabin bag under. A large holdall fits in the boot, plus there was loads of room on the rear shelf for a suit, dresses (we went to a wedding) and other items. I was surprised what went in!
I can try and get the suitcase model number if it has a label inside if anyone's interested. It was £19.99 from Aldi, but that was in 2014!
