Been looking at a new DB9 with a list of circa £150k

Probably got a few extras on that I wouldn't be bothered about if I was speccing one.

What is the best discount / deal could I expect , or what is the best anyone has had in the past ?

Touchy subject , I know but I'm looking for some sort of guide to help me make my mind up.

Pm if needed

Cheers

The DB11 has been well received.

Are you tempted by this new model?

Not really keen on it tbh.

Seriously, I would not spend £150,000 on a DB9 with the DB11 already launched.

You can also pick up a current Vanquish for less and have your pick of DBS's and classic Vanquish/Vanquish S's - that will not plumet in value and may continue grow.

Just my opinion of course.

With respect you have to really want a DB9 at that level. It will lose a ton in depreciation. Vanquish, DBS, V12 Vantage all fantastic buys at the moment if you hunt around and DBS and V12 Vantages are appreciating.

DB9 GT has been selling well. Bear in mind that it has virtually nothing in common with the original DB9, apart from its appearance [from a distance], and wheelbase. VVT engine, newer software on ZF gearbox, wider body [DBS dimensions], CCM brakes, Bilstein adaptive damping, higher torsional rigidity, revised seats, newer dashboard [from 2009], revised NVH, Garmin navigation, bigger boot, etc.
I guess buyers think its the end of an era, and the DB9 will always be beautiful!

lol - yup, you caught me out! Visiting family for the easter break. Their nephew (8yr old) is already a huge AM fan so me and my brother-in-law took him to the local AM showroom as part of a day out. Earlier I took him for a spin in the banana GT4 and my brother-in-law took him out in his black 991 C4 so it made for a bit of a special day for him.

After visiting Brentwoof AM (who were very friendly to a northerner) we walked over to their Jaguar showroom next door. The lad whispered to me "these jaguars are nice, but the Astons are a lot nicer!"

Good lad!!!

DB9 is a great car. The GT probably even better. If that's the one you like, buy it. They all depreciate badly. Buy it for what it is and how it will make you feel. Not for what it will resale for.

Agreed. Just don't pay retail.

A few people are in for a real shock when they sell their cars if they think they're appreciating in value.

" Just don't pay retail "

I'll think you'll find that the sole reason of my original post .

When I bought my first Aston in March 2010 it was a 1 year old DB9 and IIRC I paid £89k for it.

Before signing up the Dealer said that if I so wished I could have the brand new vantage sitting in front of me for the same price. It had a retail sticker next to it of about £115k. I declined as I wanted the Noyne.

I appreciate the vantage is a different car and that there may have been some sort of promotion but it lead me to realise there is retail and then there is retail.

Ask a few Dealers from different groups what is the best deal they can give you.
