Folks

I'm eagerly awaiting my first McLaren (storm grey 650S spider) in about 2 weeks time, trading in my 458 Spider.

I have a country house in Dorset for which my neighbour owns the country road to our properties, but I have a documented right of way. We'd agreed to refurb it and split he costs so I could get my 458 Spider down there (no lift system) but she's now pushing back as "normal cars" get down there fine.

Now I have the Macca on the way with its lift system, do you reckon I'll be fine ? My wife's Audi A3 gets down there no issues - it's wide enough just not a Tarmac road, more country lane with a grassy middle.

Any thoughts ? If I don't need to get the private road relaid then my Mclaren is already saving me money. Bonus !

Lift on the 650S is pretty good, the rear comes up too. As long as you keep an eye out for any big dips I think you will be okay if normal ride height cars don't have any trouble.

I don't have lift on my 12c and managed all the local speed bumps just fine.

If a normal car is fine on the track....I would be surprised if a 650s with lift doesn't cope as well (same speed)

If it's potholed you might need to watch your tyres and wheels sides as well.....very easy to scratch an alloy dipping in and out of a hole.

Hi
Do you mind me asking the spec of your 458 Spider ?.
Are you trading it into a Mclaren Dealer ?

Have you had any issues with your 458 ?

Many thanks Just I am in the market to trade my California for a 458 Spider.

2013 Rosso Corsa with Crema Interior, all options except the front lift and dynamic headlights.

It's in great condition, full paintshield so car is immaculate. London McLaren have a Ferrari dealer in their network, I would think it will be on the market between £180 and £190k.

No issues apart from replacing the infotainment on warranty.

I traded up to the 458 from a California, loved it.

The lift system is pretty good on 650s with both front and rear rising. Cant remember exact figures but its certainly 40 mm or more at front.
Ive been down a country lane with a high grass track in the middle with no scraping. I think it will be fine.
TBH I don't even use it on all speed bumps and have never had it bottom out
