Although I think the title of Pope would ensure that they carried out the same preaching.

Indeed. I don't remember anything about rosary beads or praying to Mary when I did RE. In fact, I thought it said you should only pray to God.

Mind you, at least the head of the RC church still says he believes in God, unlike some of the senior members of the Anglican church.

Anyone with inside knowledge on this sort of thing got any idea who the next Pope might be?

A good Pope could really make a difference in some parts of the world - you'd be surprised as to how much power this guy's got.
