Gentlemen, a lost art?
Discussion
My stepdaughter is beautiful, intelligent, interesting, sporty, fun, has a good career and is single. And yet all the single men out there seem to be selfish, self obsessed, immature, needy and mummy's boys. I'm convinced (OK maybe I'm just old fashioned) that the modern single man has forgotten good old fashioned manners, how to treat a lady like a lady and how to be a man without being a macho caveman.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most young women have forgotten how to be a lady too.As above, it is difficult to be a gentleman to many as they object. Even holding a door open for a lady before now has "earned" me a tongue-lashing. Nevertheless, I continue to hold doors open for both women and men, simply good manners IMHO.
There are good chaps out there, they are just few and far between. And probably too shy to go introduce themselves to your young lady.

Hasn't rampant feminism killed gentlemanly behaviour towards women? It's expected to be polite up to a point, but trying to imbibe true gentlemanly actions can be seen as verging on chauvinism by some.
Aren't manners and gentlemanly traits all about making others (male and female) feel comfortable in your presence? Not just doing nice stuff for women.

You're asking here? I hope she has better judgement than you.Leg pulling aside, I'm sure the right man is out there. Finding him, now that's something else.
