push button under the dash?????

I'm on my 3rd Chim......I've never seen a second black push button under the dash before!!! It's exactly like the boot release but it's on the left. What does it do folks????

They all have 'em, and the first time most people notice is when the dash lights don't work cos you've turned them off with your knee.

A popular mod was to wire this button up as a manual control for the radiator fans just in case you started getting nervous whilst sat in traffic...
