Good spot! Was going to take the plunge, but it's not available for home delivery and none of the stores within 45 miles have any units available for collection in store! Utter horse st

They are good but you also need something to mount it to. Useless otherwise.

I managed to pick up a pedal and wheel mount off eBay for £25 which was pretty lucky really.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Ordered online @ 99.99 but only charged 89.99 in store, think they had some promotion on.

It's almost like the £300 Logitech were charging on release was too much...

The Thrustmaster T300 must be selling OK in comparison as it hasn't been as heavily discounted. Having moved from g27 to T500 I feel a difference so maybe the t300 is also the superior wheel, reviewers seem to think it is.

Trust me on this...

Not connected but having tried out a mates WheelStand Pro I ended up buying this. He tried my Omega stand out and sold his Wheelstand to get one too. Super stable, no annoying bar between your legs, and very easy to fold up. Yes it is bigger than some of the other stands out there but it's also cheaper.

Ordered the wheel stand yesterday and it arrived this afternoon. It's a lot heavier than I expected but that can only be a good thing. Really impressed with the build and stability. I spent around an hour on GT6 and felt I was clipping the apexes better but still a lot of getting used too.

Excellent. Glad you like it too.

I must say it's one of the few products that I've purchased that I am super happy with enough to sing it's praises and recommend. Yes it is pretty heavy and solid but that adds massively to the overall stability. I found with the other stands I tried (including the often praised 'Wheelstand Pro') they all felt very top heavy and slightly wobbly. You needed the weight of your legs on the base to hold them steady and even then they would wobble in hard lock to lock action. This Omega is just rigid on the floor no matter how frantic you get with it. And yet if you remove the wheel for storage is still does fold pretty flat too.

ps. It's also nicely upgradable into a full rig if you have the space/money as they also sell a seat frame for £45 that plugs straight into the stand. You can then fit the racing seat of your choice or buy their seat offering (£129 reclining race seat)

If the build quality is as good as you suggest (I've no reason to doubt!) then their 'cockpits' piss on the Playseat setup.

I have a Playseat, and I'm quite happy with it, but can't use the clutch because if the central bar. These are the same price buy look way better. Good call.

When space allows I'll be buying that.

I agree with you on the weight it just doesn't budge and folds down into a nice compact size.

I managed to grab a G29 from Currys, and have finally got round to mounting it using this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/0025024...

I had to mod it a bit to shorten the legs, and added a few bits of MDF to lock the pedals in place and lock the table to the sofa. Works pretty well and doubles as a handy side table when not in use.

I'm still tempted by a proper stand and race seat though...

Anyone thought about buying a car that was due to go to the scrappy and cutting the dash/floor etc out and mounting your steering wheel and stuff in it so it looks car like from the seat?
