Can anyone tell me the approximate differences between the two (993 turbo), wet/dry track road or whatever?

I've driven both tyres. Extensively.

The tyre I like best?

Michelin Pilot Sport.

You're not helping much!
It's just that I've got a set of wheels with nearly new SO2 fronts and a set with new Pirelli fronts.

Do i bin a set or which ones are best on the road or track? Arghhhh

Are these SO2s or SO3s? I thought SO2s were unobtainable these days. If you can't source them I'd go with the Pirellis - these are OK and were OK on track too. If you can get S02s all round I'd go with them out of preference - I certainly liked them on our Chimaera...

I have the Pirellis all round. I haven't tried the Bridgestones but from what I've read:

Pirellis are better in the dry
Bridgestones are better in the wet
Bridegstones wear better

I've also read:
Don't mix different brands
Don't mix N ratings even of the same brand

I've just bought a set of SO2 N2s - still very much available.

My car camr with Conti, then I had P-Zero, then I tried SO2, now I'm back to P-zero.
I found P-zero has sharper handling and definately better dry grip, not sure about wet as I've not had the balls to push it in the wet yet.

Bridgestones are directional and have less road noise, I used these on my Scoob and my first GTR33 I swore by them. Then I changed to Goodyear F1s which were similar in performance and looks. My current 996 TT has the Pirellis on it so did my previous GT3 they are a great all round tyre , may be a bit noisey.I would keep them, but for any track day use I'd change to Pirelli Corsa or the Michelin Cups. they were not very good at all in keeping any heat whilst at silverstone back in Nov.

Pirelli's in the wet, surely not. Think ice dancing!

Had a set of P-zeros, as said they are toppo in the dry, though will scare you if you drive hard in the wet.

Done about 700 miles on a set of Conti Sport Contact 2's, the wet grip is awesome, due to recent weather can't comment on dry grip. Going to Brunters soon and am very interested to see how they perform on the track. The P-zeros were excellent on a dry track BTW.
