New Clutch Audi TT 2003

Hi, I have a quick question on behalf of a friend, who appears to being ripped off.

What would it cost for a new clutch on one of these things, you know, from a good independent??

More info needed, is it a quattro or fwd, does what theyve been quoted include a new dual mass flywheel, they arent cheap and usually need doing as it could fail at any point in the future requiring the whole lot to come out again.

Audis fixed price for older cars is £800 fwd or £950 Quattro.

They did a TT on Wheeler Dealers recently, it looked a right faff, engine needed to come off its mounts.

It's a Quattro....and the full thing is required.

Are there any good independents that could be recommended??

Any ideas how their costs would compare with main dealers?

£950 from Audi seems like a bit of a bargain! I suppose if the car is only worth a few grand though it will be a bit of a bitter pill to swallow!

Mr Clutch did one for me. I think it was about £400 - £450 (South East Wales)
I'm a mechanic, and it wasn't worth me doing it for that money. It was a 4WD

400 quid would just about cover parts if he needs the full shebang as stated....
