Blending in paintwork
Discussion
Hi All
I have just treated some minor rust patches on an old fiesta. I then painted over the treated area and it came out quite nice.
although there is a clear line around the areas I have painted.
Is there a way to make it blend in a bit better? polish, sand with fine paper?
anyone done this before?

I guess you may have used an aerosol can? Did you also have a masking tape edge? If so (as long as the panel is clean) you can rub down the edge with wet&dry and respray without masking tape - the spray blends it in. Just cut back with T cut or similar after it's dried a few hours and all should be good. Next time don't use masking tape. The other way (if it's in a suitable area) is to paint up to a given line eg edge of panel of a crease line. Years ago this was always a give-away to damage if you saw a car in 2nd hand dealer with the Fiesta name and stripes half-way up the body, indicating that was to disguise the lower panel repairs!I have just treated some minor rust patches on an old fiesta.
