Hi,

I can't get X-news newsreader to decode things correctly. I suscribe to the newsgroup find the radio show I want to download, queue it with space bar and hit F4 to decode it. When I come to listen to it , it skips back and forth.

Please help, or suggest a better free newsreader??

Thanks
Craig

Are the news articles in order before you decode?

Yes, they are grouped into 3 folders, with lots of little parts inside. I mark each folder and then decode. It seems to be mixing up the order of the parts in each folder.

Surely you aren't meant to go into each folder and mark 50 different parts and check order. What a pain. There must be a quick fix?

Thanks

I'm not sure I entirely understand what it is you're after, but have you looked at "aub" (Assemble Usenet Binaries") which is designed specifically to do what I think you want?

Use Gravity - the best newsreader I've ever had by some margin. Automatically displays & decodes multipart binaries, in addition to everything you could ever want a newsreader to do. Quite simply the dog's chops.
