Hi, just about to pull teh trigger on purchasing a N400 Roadster but the HPI raised a query which i have now got sorted but want to make sure there isnt an issue and as I am still at work, I don't have my book handy.

The V5 and HPI have the VIN as

Whilst the car has this in both locations

I remember there being a test digit in the number - do i need to be worried about the D/0 issue?

I've had this problem in the past, its when somebody makes a typing error at DVLA as the car is first registered. Call DVLA, and ask them how to rectify it. I don't recall it being a major drama!

Ring a local AML dealer, a proper one and tell them about the car you're looking to buy. If its been in the dealer network, or worked upon then they will give you its history. That will either settle your mind or raise flags. If its the latter then walk.

Thanks for the speedy response - the car has a full AMSH and i spoke to the dealer who serviced the car last month and they have it as a D so hopefully nothing to be concerned about smile

Just checked both my V5 and car (06 V8V) and at the end of the chassis number there are 2 letters followed by 5 numbers. So it looks like the V5 and HPI are not correct on the car you are looking at for some reason.
