I know there’s a few Hertfordshire members here so I thought id mention that on the new bit of the A10, (running from Hertford up to the roundabout for the Cambs stretch of the a10),- a fantastic bit of road, the police are waiting in the slip road at the Puckeridge end and lasering every tom dick and harry. They will no doubt coin in a fortune, as I would give a conservative estimate of average speeds on this stretch being, not unreasonably given the road condition and layout, 90mph odd.

Just thought it worth a mention

Thanks for that.

I saw them there once last summer on my way back to London from Cambridge. My in-laws live in Buckland, so with travel to Cambridge as well, I'm often blatting along that stretch.

Not surprised at all.

As soon as I drove up that new stretch it had the classic hallmarks for a radar trap - new, safe, fast wide, pedestrian free, good visibility.

Ideal for stealing the most money for the least effort, prime scumera mugging ground..

Probably time to install that electric garage door you've always promised yourself..

it is a fantastic bit of road isnt it? almost as good as the a414 to harlow until they put 4 speed cams there (although i guess one is quite well positioned to lower the speed before the junction).

As an aside, if anyone has driven the "old" bit of A10, have you noticed how much the limits have been lowered, its insane. When I used to drive to school, (only just over a couple of years back now) it was mostly nsl apart from a couple of 40's through residential parts. Now its all 30's 40's and bloody 50's.

Its a shame, I used to feel a lot more relaxed driving in Herts compared to Reading or indeed London, but it seems the county is becoming more and more scammed each and ever day

I lived in Ware until very recently and was up and down the A10 every day. There were always speed traps at some point around that area.

Go careful.
