Chipped Paint on Wheels
Discussion
I have 20" Carrera S wheels that were factory painted black (partially). I've noticed that on one of my wheels the paint has been chipped in several places and the chipped areas have been progressively getting worse.
Has anyone else experienced this, would be keen to understand if there are any success stories with regards to it being covered under warranty before I speak to my OPC - as I'm guessing they're going to say it's wear and tear. Either way, my OCD will dictate I get the wheel refurbed eventually whether it's under warranty or not!
I'll get some pictures of the wheel in question later to share.

I have the same wheel on my Cayman, but in silver. Mine have chips appearing, and I've read it's not unusual on this style.
Thanks, my car is a Cayman also. My other 3 wheels are perfectly fine, it's just my near side front that seems to have taken a battering. I was going to blame poor prep work prior to the wheel being painted for the paint coming off before I found out they were factory painted
I guess it's not to say that wheel wasn't refurbed before I bought the car, but wouldn't have thought so given it's age.I have small multi chips to every forward face of every spoke of all wheels on my Carrera S Platinums...

Car bought privately at 13k miles, and I didn't notice the chips until I washed the car. OPC didn't want to know (under warranty to Dec'16) so I contacted HO in Reading. They too tried to wriggle, saying there's no known issue with the paint on these wheels.
I'd had the 111 point check done, at Reading, the day prior to purchase and they said the wheels were fine in the report. After some pleasant arguing HO refunded my 111 point check fee and rounded it up to £350 as a gesture of goodwill.
I'll get Chris at Exel to re-furb (£600) in due course. He did another guy's off Boxa.net and they turned out immaculate.

This is how mine are starting to look, having been refurbed by OPC at 13k when bought, and now at 17k. Have been in touch with Chris who said this particular finish is difficult to get right. I quite fancy the satin if I get them redone.
Chris told me the Satin Platinum is also difficult to get right.BTW he IS Leicester OPC's wheel refurb man, and I suspect other OPC's too.
