I don't profess to be any good at photography, and I only own a simple, cheap in the scheme of things digi camera, but I am quite happy with some of the shots it has taken on my latest holiday. Please be gentle

First of all, the local wildlife

As a matter of interest... Just how much are people spending on a good camera and lenses to get the fantastically sharp pictures I have been seeing on other threads?

A lot of it is processing rather than equipment - screens aren't the best way to judge sharpness anyway, what with all those pixels. Resizing and sharpening can do wonders for a photo on screen - but it's an illusion.

A couple of moody shots on the days the sun didn't shine. I quite like this one, but I'm not sure why

Oh and I like this one too as it looks so isolated.

Excellent pics mrs fish
That last one is composed exactly right according to the law of thirds imo. So you obviously have a good eye.
I have seen a lot worse bird pictures taken with 4 times more expensive equipment including mine.
I think you are a natural.

Thanks

Looking at it again, should I have cropped the last one so that the horizon is horizontal?
