I've seen these about for the last couple of years but in the last 6 months or so I have started to notice two main things

1. The people who use them seem to be antisocial with them, producing crazy amounts of smoke and then blowing it out where it will linger, don't really see proper smokers do this

2. Some People who use them seem like insecure toddlers using them like dummies / comfort blankets

Is it seen to be cooler to produce more smoke?

I'm getting old

Haha I'd noticed a few looking to emulate some of the GWR's finest steam engines. People o know that moved onto using them definitely use it a lot more than they ever smoked, but I'm unsure why. Smaller nicotine hit or just because they can? Perhaps they'd always wanted to be an 80 a day type?

I read (possibly on here) that people have found their car interior etc covered in a film of some sort from prolonged usage. Wouldn't fancy that in my lungs (along with all the diesel particulates...).

Morons! Ruining it for the rest of us! I stealth vape. There are 2 liquids that provide the smoke... Vegetable Glycerine(VG) and Propylene Glycol(PG). VG produces MUCH more smoke and the commercial liquids use a lot of VG. I mix my own with only PG. I stealth vape EVERYWHERE! I could be sat next to you doing it now and you wouldn't know - just looks like I'm resting my chin on one hand in a pensive moment. There are breathing techniques to reduce even the minimal amount of PG vapor cloud to zero. Finding not-so-strong flavours helps even further.

It was going well until sub ohming and cloud chasing became a craze for a few. I'm a vapour myself and think it's got a bit silly. This will ruin it for most.

LOL - that is so the pose!!!! He is toking some Virginian leaf there for sure! - probably has a USB cable running up his shirt sleeve and over his shoulder to a jobbing battery pack in his back pocket too! ...... ooops - another secret given away ;-0. Seriously, I've sat on bar stools and discussed the no-vaping policy with bar staff like that!

Problem is the whole industry seems to be promoting sub ohming at the moment. I tried it for a while but can't see the point. You are continually charging batteries and the tanks use e liquid at a much faster rate. You also cannot use liquid with high nicotine content as it can be very harsh.

1. Those people will more than likely be antisocial/ignorant/selfish anyway. Some I suppose, will know it's producing vapour but they'll view it as harmless and state as much if challenged, ignoring the real issue of the challenger not wanting to stand in a cloud of anything.

2. Alleviate boredom or suppress nerves/idle minds?. I'm guessing that's the same principle as people pulling out their phones in a crowded area.

I vape. I enjoy it. I have subtle ecigs to use discreetly if I'm not within arms reach of someone and a sub ohm tank that does give massive clouds. That is always left at home and never used around anyone.

There's your answer - more juice sales, of cheaper to manufacture juice (nicotine is the most expensive ingredient).

I use a sub ohm tank, but with temp control it doesn't have to be mental...

Followed a car that had so much smoke coming out of the slightly open driver/px windows. Inside must have been like a pea soup. The whole vaping thing seems a bit cobbled together and low rent?

I smoked c40 a day for 30 years and simply couldn't quit. Ecigs got me off cigarettes and then down to zero nicotine and then off the Ecigs completely inside a year. Without them I'd still be a heavy smoker. They certainly serve a purpose, it's just a shame they're being seen as trendy by younger generations and a "scene" being built around them. People should see them as a way to quit completely, not a trend.

Indeed, my Wife went to McDonalds for a coffee the other day and there were a couple of 13/14 year old boys (know the age because one is in the same school year as my Son) hanging around outside, vaping... confused

WoW, sub-ohming eh.

Had to look that up.

http://vaping360.com/what-is-sub-ohm-vaping-and-th...

What a complex, er, "hobby" it is. Strewn with more acronyms than you can shake a stick at.

Also introduced me to a completely new term for good old fashioned fags "analog" cigarettes.

Where will it all end....

'It's not something I can relate to therefore anyone that does is a dick'.

Put your hand up if you've posted an issue with vaping but would be happy with smoking as an alternative.

I use both sub ohm which does produce more smoke and standard ecigs. It's very easy to be anti-social with ecigs, it's also very easy to consider others before use. I choose the 2nd option.

I don't know of anyone that has genuinely given nicotene up by vaping, they just tend to vape more than they smoked therefore increasing their addiction to nicotene. I accept they are supposed to be "harmless" (at the moment) but it annoys me when people claim they are using them to give up. I gave up smoking using patches and will-power, I used an e-cig and only when it ran out of battery power did I realise it was the same as being addicted to cigarettes and I was kidding myself that my addiction had gone/ subsided.

I find Vapers to be similar to Vegans in they can't wait to tell you all about it.

Did you stuggle to come off the vape? Did you reduce your nicotene gradually?
