Three Sisters Track Sessions. Anyone had a go?
Discussion
On the hunt for new circuits to try within driving distance, I've started to see that Three Sisters are doing track day type events. Seems to be about £20 for 10 laps, and apparently it gets busy. Now I've done a few track days and folk are all there to have a good time, and they've generally paid a fair amount so want to make sure they get the most experience for their money, so are generally well behaved. I've never seen a accident at the couple of days I've attended. However in contrast, at Japfest 2 at Donnington the other year, during the 1 hour lunchtime track slot, there were 3 accidents including 1 rollover.
I've wary to attend this "Track Attack" at Three Sisters in case it descends into something akin to stock car racing. I'm only in a Clio 172, bought for the purposes of being a disposable track car; but still, I dont want it to be damaged by someone with something to prove. These events seem to be promoted primarily via Facebook, and I'm wondering if they're as bad as I think, or am I just overthinking it?...
My point is, £150+ trackdays generally tend to attract people who have more than a passing interest. £20 track sessions will attract have a go heroes. This isnt intended as snobbery, as the main reason I'm considering it is because of the cost.
Me and a mate did one last month, both in Clios.
The driving standard was fine really.
They only let about 10 cars on for a session.
We were lapping in 48s which i was told is pretty good for a first timer.
Worth noting that it's very heavy on the tyres, i drove there on AD08R's with about 2-3mm and left with practically nothing after 2 sessions.

Not done one - admittedly as I've been wary for exactly the same reasons.
However I have a buddy who's done a few in his Clio. He's told me if you get there for one of the weekday ones at about 3pm (i.e. when it starts) it's pretty much dead and you have the track to yourself. I might be willing to give that a go

I'm there every month, had a hand in starting the thing off back when I worked there.
Agree with everything said, track is narrow so max is 10 on track, and it is hard on tyres. Because it's small driving standards a quite important, especially regarding blue flags - I actually wrote the rule book!
Weekday events have gone as far as I'm aware, they generally run at the weekend now. It does get very busy when the sun is out. As paddock space is limited there has been points where we turned people away so it's highly recommend to get in early, gates open at 10am.
If anyone spots me in the mx5 or the f do say hello!
