Shoulder/Neck Pain with Cold

I have had about 3 or 4 colds in the last 6 months (son is at nursery) and every time it comes back I get shoulder and neck pain in the same place. Been to the doctors, but he doesn't seem to think the two are linked. Anyone else get this?

I think I damaged my shoulder at the gym about 12 months ago and that area is prone to pain now and again, but it seems odd I always get neck and shoulder pain every time my cold comes back.
