well I am not sure if my 350 I wants to come down from its stands .Had to wait 2 weeks for a chap who does this sort of thing for a living ..To try and drill out 2 broken exhaust studs .Now we have to try and lift the engine to help access to studs.? Next car I buy will hope fully not need any work .lesson learned Mike

Is the manifold off, leaving the studs?

If you can get to the stud head then clean it off and MiG weld to it. The weld will avoid the aluminium and stick to the stud, if you weld on a mild steel bar then you can use that to unscrew the stud. Make sure you disconnect the battery first to protect the alternator.

I've done this to remove a stuck/snapped engine mounting stud and it was off in about 10 minutes, and the thread was not damaged and reused.
