Silicates or NOT silicates?

I've the red stuff in at the moment, but when I went to buy some at Halfrauds they didn't have a listing for the car.....

Mine is running on the red. Even after rad replacement by str8six still red. I had the same conundrum with oil..

Mine is a sp6.

Looks like Carplan 5 Star Longlife was recommended for the Speed 6. Organic Acid, not with silicates...

Use the pink oat coolant... It doesn't contain silicates.

Not sure it really matters that much, if you use a coolant with a silicate or phosphate type corrosion inhibitor. The colour is largely irrelevant more down to what the manufacture/supplier wants in a given market/country. Silicate based systems provide corrosion inhibition by chemically interacting at specific metallic corrosion sites, Phosphate based systems are layer forming where the inhibitors cover the total surface......

Yes . So is the rest of the engine... Head .. Block.. All aluminium.
