They do say to oil it, when I do the outdoor furniture once a year its certainly not slippery after its sat for a day or so and soaked in.
A good wash and scrub gets a lot of the colour back.

Wessex two part then semco teak sealer. Avoid teak oil on the decks.
I watched this being used last summer and it came up like new and still looks good today. Also watched a guy jetwash his teak to death on Friday, against all advice he decided that it was quicker and cheaper than cleaning with a brush.

Never use a high-pressure cleaner to clean your teak deck.
This appears to clean the teak deck quickly but the use of a high-pressure cleaner eats away the softer grain of the planks. This makes the grain structure much rougher, with the result that dirt becomes more easily embedded in the teak deck, causing it to wear faster and become thinner."

+1 for Boracol. Not as a finishing product, but it does a wonderful job of cleaning all the green grime out of the wood. Very hard work to use too...not...brush on with a paintbrush, and watch the magic happen over the course of a week. Brilliant stuff (if a bit nasty to the environment so be a bit careful...)

Cheers chaps. Bought some Wessex & Semco
Great stuff just be careful when applying it, I always used 50% more cleaner than neutraliser. If you are using a kitchen sponge/scourer thing you can damage the deck, obviously depends upon how much green there is on the decks. ALawson said:

I used a microfibre cloth. Only done the removable table so far. A quick question - can the cleaner, restorer or Semco damage surrounding gelcoat? My original thoughts were to clean the teak inlays on the deck with the 2 part Wessex, hose off thoroughly and then mask off and apply the Semco Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
