ciao guys, a quick one for you.

I'd like to verify whether the info I was given on the brake discs+pads' lifespan is somehow correct.

Type of drive (mileage terms):
Car: manual Vantage 4.7 Coupe
70-80%: City (London) drive, usually short drives (10-15min), almost all in "warm-up" mode, particularly when cold outside, hence, no over-heating assumed here.
Rest: Mix of motorways and coutry-side roads. Smooth type of driving, not aggressive and within speed limits

Consumption in mileage:
Pads: 7-8k miles
Discs: 15k (approx. double the life of pads)

Could you please comment whether it's in the ballpark?

Btw, what is the cost of replacing the full lot (4 discs+4 pads) and, eventually where would you do the work in London (official dealer or specialist)?

Thanks a lot

In my experience on my 4.3 over the last 10 years/75k miles

Consumption in mileage:
Pads: 15-20k miles
Discs: 25-30K miles

Have done a couple of track airfield days, spirited B road use, mainly take it out for A road these days although in the early years it did motorway commute 60% of the time over the first 40K miles

Thank you bogie for sharing, I was expecting surely a bit more from the lifespan I was told but yours are way above my expectations!

Could you share any indicative cost figures for replacing either the pads or the discs or both please? thank you

Discs about £350 a pair
pads £150-300 depending where you source
wires £30 pair
Rear handbrake pads £60 pair

say £600-650 per axle fitted depending where you go...
