About a year ago my sat nav stopped opening/retracting. I don't have any need for the sat nav so haven't done anything about it. Does anyone know what's required to get it fixed? I believe the sat nav still works ok, just that it doesn't pop up and down the way it should.

Even when you press the button, or are you talking about when you start the car?

Yes when you press the button to make it tilt up or down, nothing happens but you can hear the whirly things.

Sounds like the little drive cogs have gone? Apparently it's quite common and an inexpensive fix with a new kit, possibly from AstonMartinBits.com?

That's what I've heard (from the forum). Would anyone know if this is this a dealer job or something we can try and fix ourselves?

It's the sort of thing a Dealer throws in for nowt (parts only) if you are near servicing time etc.

I used to leave a list of things for them to do and most were done gratis at the service - it just depends on your timetable.

I believe the repair kit cost me about £6 from Aston Martin and there is a link on the website (If you do a search) for the service repair procedure. It took me about 30mins all in to remove and replace the defective/broken cog.
