I'm looking for a wedding ring and I'm lost.

I work with my hands quite a lot so what ever its made from I want to be able to have it brought back to new for special occasions. I also know i want it to be rounded on the inside, and I don't want it to remind me of something out of the workshop.
I did try one with 2 diamonds in yesterday and I actually quite liked it, then I thought about the ripping I might get having a slightly effeminate wedding ring.

So if you could turn back time would you go for the same ring again? Did you change yours after a few years? Or wouldn't you swap it for the world?

I've just been through this and ended up with a simple titanium band. Simple, strong, hard wearing, and only about £35. So if I lose it, scratch it, or mess it up I'll just get another.

Same. It was just as well as I lost the first one on honeymoon!

It's quite a bit harder than the usual gold/platinum so has some fine surface scratches after a few years but still pretty shiny, won't need polishing up anywhere near as much. Can't be resized easily but cheap to replace if needed.

I lost my first one. It was a bit slack and simply fell off one day frown
My Wife design a new one for me and used some of her old gold stuff to get it made.
It has two diamonds to represent our two kids.
I like it very much.

Take it or leave it.
I didn't want one so spent 4K on a watch instead and they threw in a titanium ring to keep the wife happy..

Mine is made of tungsten carbide, quite heavy and absolutely does not mark, in the 7 years that I have constantly worn it, including when I used to do a lot of weights work at the gym, there is not a mark on it at all.

It is a dark colour, rounded with polished edges and a brushed centre, I would have the exact same thing again; oh and it only cost £80, there is no need to spend silly amounts; whether £80 or £4k, they do the same thing and no one knows what it is made of anyway and TBH who cares.

Mine's planium and I do like it.

Don't worry about wearing it if you work with your hands - I was a little precious about mine to begin with, but soon learned that the patina of it just means more memories.

As long as it doesn't chip or bend (which it won't if it's decent) it'll be fine.

Stupid idea. Didn't wear jewelery before, why now?

I went for 18ct white gold (as I always wear stainless steel watches, don't like the idea of a gold ring and a silver watch).

It's flat on the outside, comfort fit curved on the inside. It's wide - 10mm. It's a big old lump! Cost me £400 in 2007 when we had them made, including an engraving.

I only really take it off at the weekends when I play golf, or if I doing building/gardening work.

In a perfect world I would have gone for platinum but at the time I think it more than twice the price.

Another here who doesn't wear one, purely from a comfort point of view as sometimes the ring is pretty much falling off and other times I feel like it's cutting off the blood supply! My fingers swell and shrink throughout the day and it's a pain in the arse. I have one, a very nice Platinum jobbie in a plain style. However if I was to do it again I would get something like Titanium as the Platinum is expensive and marks easily - £100 should do it!

We had ours made by an immense chap who looked like a fairytale troll. When we arrived to go over designs and sizing, he was in his drive cutting down a massive block of foam to use as a mold for a new bath tub, as all the standard shop ones were too small for him! hehe

My ring is made up of three narrow, overlapping waves of gold. I really like it, and it's really comfy. I only generally take it off when I'm kneading pizza dough or something similar that would clog up the holes between the strands.

Careful, you'll upset the watch wearers.

I might pop in there and post a pic of my smartwatch, to see them all melt down.
hehe

Why would you think people who have expensive watches are bothered what you think?

I wed in Church in Italy. Over there Churches can't register marriages so you must have a certificate from a registry office presented to the priest before they will allow the ceremony to commence. As a result my wife and I were 1st married in a UK registry office. Our rings weren't ready so we used plastic rings off a congratulations card. I wore that ring faithfully (who says romance is dead) till the church service a good couple of weeks later where we exchanged our "real" rings.

Another titanium wearer here.

I suggest you make sure you get a shape which you find comfortable. D-shape, court, flat, etc.
