Anyone play this back in the late 80's, early 90's? I had it on the CPC.

It's been ported over to iOS under the name "Unknown 3d space trader" and it's bloody brilliant. Amazing how the planet names come flooding back after 25 years! Lave, Disorder, Leesti, Zaonce etc

There is a pretty decent version on Android called Alite. Elite has been ported to OS X, Raspberry Pi and many others.

Doesn't appear to. Certainly isn't listed as having IAP on the App Store.

That's EXACTLY what I'm doing too! Buying narcotics, slaves and firearms, military laser front and rear.

Only problem with unknown is that there are no instructions so it took me a while to figure out what all the icons mean.

I am trying to get my son into this for purely nostalgic reasons on my part. We really need a guide for the icons and a way to make the controls less sensitive though!

You can adjust the sensitivity of the flight controls. Save icon then game settings.

I'm on holiday just now but had actually contemplated starting a Wordpress site dedicated to it.

1. Icon guide
2. Interactive map of planets, their types and tech levels
3. Other "stuff"

So can someone give a total noob to this game a bit of a hand? What's the best tade line to setup and what are the best supplies to ship (starting off)? I seem to be able to make f all money in this game.

Also how do you tell the bad guys from the good? Wamhat does the icon colour mean on the map?

It's been years since I played this and can't remember much about it. smile

I started with computers and furs - buying computers from industrial planets and selling at agricultural and vice versa for the furs.

Worth upgrading cargo capacity ASAP. Once I'd amassed some money to upgrade my front laser i started on the narcotics, slaves and firearms.

I haven't worked out what the colours on the radar mean yet! I think it might just be the type of contact I.e ship/planet/sun/asteroid.

Just sold 80t of computers that I bought for 61 at Biarge for 101 at Zarece.

Never fly empty, you're just wasting fuel.
More risky the cargo the more profit can be made - and the more the Pirates chase you!
Basic commodities are cheap in basic economies I.e. Slaves, narcotics, furs are cheap on poor agricultural planets but expensive on high tech planets. Luxuries and computers are cheap in the rich industrial planets but expensive in the agricultural planets.
Try and get a military laser ASAP
The missiles aren't great

I've got a Python just now smile

The biggest benefit of playing on an iProduct is that you can screengrab the stock market so you can remember what you paid!

I just got some cheap drugs and computers at Zadies. Maybe need to be upgrading my ship for more cargo capacity!
