Too cheap for a Chimaera?

Although it seems the prices of TVRs in general have been going up a bit the last year, I wonder if they are just 'asking' prices. I've no connection with this but a Chimaera for sale here seems a bit cheap.

No photo but already relisted with £1k knocked off the price:

No mention of any PAS or history at all so maybe there are still bargains to be had?

I don't think so. Interior in need of tlc and mileage of over 100k will limit the market and the value.

6k car, will probably need a few grand throwing at it. Then you have a 8-9k Chim with over 100k on it.

Suspension refresh and brakes on mine have cost over 2k in parts alone now. And that on a very low mileage car with me doing all the work.

L415 VHR is the registration number. The MOT history makes very interesting reading. In 2006 there were advisories regarding the chassis corrosion. Even more in 2008. Failed on seat belt anchorages. Hopefully the chassis has been done or the cost of repairs is going to escalate fast.

I would hope testers haven't ignored it since no corrosion has been mentioned since.

As I typed the first few characters of the reg into the DVLA check, the whole reg was prompted. so I've done a check on this one before at some time, but not sure when.

It had 96k miles on it in 2006 so a well driven car!

One thing to take note "In addition the chassis rails and floor have been undersealed". If the outriggers have not been replaced since the MOT failure then sounds like someone will be buying rust covered in waxoyl or similar

Well if you really must have a chimaera you probably won't find cheaper but for good reason.

Very high mileage, tatty. It it hasn't had the outriggers properly replaced then it'll be an absolute pup. if the interior looks bad, the chassis is dodgy then do you think care has been lavished on that high mileage engine?
I'd steer clear or go and loom with eyes wide (and I do mean really wide) open

It's now ended so I assume someone's bought it.

Judging by the quality of cars in the 10-12k price range that I've been looking at over the last couple of weeks even if it is in a bit of a state if you can do the work yourself it could turn out to be good value.
