Do you shake hands ?
I have noticed many under 30 don't seem to bother .
Is it relevant these days.?
What does it mean to you ?
I am of the age when a handshake sealed a deal .
I would be interested on the modern thoughts on this or is it old fashioned and out dated .

If the occasion seems to warrant it, yes, but not as a matter of course.

All the time, several times a day.

One question I have never been able to find an answer to though. Some men seem to shake hands with their little finger folded into their palm. Is there some secret meeting going on I'm missing? A few people I have noticed doing this are gay, is it a secret gay thing?

I think you only shake hands for business use, very rarely do I do it outside of meetings / interviews.
Maybe occasionally with mates or the old man but not often.

I can't stand that mwa mwa kissy stuff.

When you meet your girlfriend do you give her a hand-shake?

A good firm handshake is a must. Like you're trying to crush the buggers hand. It's a test of character, if either of you wince you know the other has a weak character. If it's a woman then a soft handshake will do, it's a woman so you already know the character issues.

I do this google Dupuytren's Contracture
My friend had this - ended up deciding to have his little finger amputated to stop it catching on things.

You'll love meeting Asians, as they have a handshake about as firm and manly as a wet warm lettuce! Horrible, makes you feel like they bitterly resent you touching them with your soiled digits.

I work a lot in Germany, so I shake hands all day every day.

I still find it odd seeing a guy walk into the office in the morning and go round everyone close by saying hello and shaking hands. When I'm in the UK, I'm lucky if anyone grunts until everyone has had at least two coffees.

Yes, but then you know you'll need to wash your hands as soon as you've left their company as they'd been coughing and sneezing into it all day prior to meeting you. (Hong Kong, especially - wear masks to keep germs out, then cough, hawk and spit dockers' Oysters anywhere! wobble )

I shake hands with people a lot, mostly due to work, but even if I'm meeting mates in the pub. It's what we do. I'm 45 and most of my mates are younger, but still....
Soft, limp handshakes, from men, is a NO, NO. I hate it!
"You're a man. MTFU!"
Actually, I hate it when someone keeps shaking your hand too. You don't need to shake 4, 5, 6 times, FFS.
