Fuel hose

Whilst i am under the car i am looking to replace all the fuel hoses.

Does anyone know the internal diameter of the hose? And roughly how much i will need?

Is the return the same size?

8mm.
Make sure you get SAE J30 R9. A lower spec than R9 will not be good.

I'm looking to replace all of my fuel lines with s/s braided...Can you recommend a supplier of suitable specification, Steve?

As Steve said make sure you use ethanol safe R9 spec. Even better is to use PTFE/Teflon hoses as these resist ethanol even more.

There are several reports of braided hose ageing prematurely in TVR engine bays. The cause appears to be that the metal braiding concentrates heat from the exhaust manifolds onto the inner hose. I'd suggest doing a PH search first as this has been reported here a few times

As above - I've had nonbraided hose fitted as you can inspect it better than the shiny stuff.
Edited to add I don't think the ebay seller I got mine from is selling it now.
Codan 7.3mm or 5/16" R9 SAE J30 rated hose for the underbonnet lines and proper stainless fuel clamps not jubilees - although the 13-15mm clamps I supplied were too big so the fitters used jubilees anyway
Try and get a brand - Codan or Goodyear from a proper dealer as some of the ebay stuff may be crap.

Edited again - Manic - if it's a brand new install I'd have a good search on here for ideas as it may be worth running copper/braided/whatever lines in a different route, and certainly leaving longer lengths coming up into the engine bay so the connections to the 8mm rubber are more accessible.

Do you defiantly have to go for the R9? I can only find R6.

Also finding it difficult to find 8mm and 12mm. Anyone recommend a supplier?

8mm R6 was supplied to me as suitable for all TVR's by TVR Car Parts.

I dont usually buy from ebay but this is the stuff i went for, they seem to have a good reputation for supplying everything hose related. Hose is actually 7.6 mm ID.
