eBay Race car - what could go wrong!

Hi, this is my first real post so please excuse the mistakes. Myself and my dad have just brought this, I see it on ebay and had a cheeky last minute bid and guess what we won it. That took some explaining that to the wife after just selling my other toys (tat as she would say)

We are aiming to get out by the end of the year in the Tops 40 minute series so we can both have a drive.

Here is a quick list of the spec.

Originally built to race in BRSCC Ford Saloon Championship eligible to race in CTCC BOSS or other tin top championship.
Body: Seam welded floor with weld in custom cage. Plastic windows. Alloy 4 gallon fuel tank with enclosure. GRP bonnet and tail gate, Push button fire extinguisher.
Brakes: Front Wilwood 4 pots with alloy bells and large vented discs, Rear 2 pot Wilwood drilled discs. Braded brake lines throughout. Floor mounted bias bar pedal with AP racing master cylinders.
Suspension: Mainly poly bushed, adjustable Leader coil over front struts, Leader adjustable rear dampers & adjustable rear tie. OZ Superleggera wheels with Toyo 888 tyres.
Dry Sump Engine 1600cc CVH. Fresh built short engine, including reground crank, new mains & big end bearings, new cast pistons with valve cut outs, rebored cross hatch honed, block faced, Ferrday big value head, Ferrday custom made wasted stem big inlet valves, ported head, bronze guides, kent duplex valve springs, Ferrday solid followers, new Kent 300° cam, adjustable cam pulley, twin dellorto 40s (3 progression hole not 5 hole Alfa road carbs) 4 into 2 into 1 manifold, twin silencer system, Mega jolt 3d map ECU, Facet gold fuel pump and filter king pressure regulator. Heavy duty AP clutch.
The short engine was done by B&E Randall, the crank has been knife edged, the bottom end was dynamically balanced and ARP bolts were used on the big ends, The head was done by Mike Tanski, again this is as new, includes a brand new Kent 300° cam.

We are booked in with HT racing at Brands hatch next week to get it set up, once this has been done it will be a case of a few track days and iron out any issues while we get our licences.

Looks a fun project, any more pictures and is it ready to go or does it need some work?

A few bits and bobs to tidy up, not too much work really, just making it our own really. It needs to go on a ramp next week for a good nut around underneath and see if there is anything that needs sorting out.

Depending on how it gets on on Tuesday we may and try and get a track day booked for May and give it a run out.

we will need an in date seat belt and a larger fuel tank for when we race it later in the year as we are planning to do the 40 minute tin tops so we both get a drive.

I will get some better photos and a video on Tuesday.

I was interested in this on eBay and watched it sell for a steal! I would have used it in the XR Challenge. You've got a really good base to use in many series like that.

Been a while since I last updated this. We have been tinkering with the car and sorting a few things out and getting things how we want them. Finally had the car set up on the rolling road today. We got 138bhp @ 6500 rpm quit happy with that.
Once it's run in and we're happy with it we might up the rev limit.

Finally got out in the Escort at brands for a bit of testing.
This is my first ever track day so there is plenty of room to improve.

Hope to compete in the final MSV trackday championship in November.
