Hello all

I feel very privileged and lucky to have achieved a dream of mine - Aston Marin ownership! A lovely 2005 DB9 coupe. My old 88 Porsche 928 S4 went as part of the deal (nice car and deserves much respect) back in mid Feb and since then I spent most of the time getting to know it and sometimes just looking at the thing!

Anyway, pic's...

Love it - the V12 is just sublime and driving it is just such an event I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it! Still can't believe it's mine and in my garage!

Hope you like

It's still a great looking car. 2005 is that sort of age where the model has had a facelift or two and is now starting to look pretty dated, but isn't old enough to look classic. That looks like it could be a year or two old.

I'm not a massive fan of Astons tbh, they're nice but they don't rock my world. But anyone achieving their dream is nice to hear.

Well done and enjoy.

Beautiful car, you are able to upgrade the rear lights to the later clear lenses, which in my opinion does a lot for it. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy the car and the associated envy from everyone else on the road smile

Looks fantastic OP. I think the DB9 is one of the very few modern cars that wasn't made to look overly aggressive and can still be called properly beautiful.

So elegant, what a machine! I think I prefer this shape to the little V8 ones - it looks more classy somehow?

Lovely.

To me that's a shape that'll never get old. Not many cars can do that. The only one I can think about is the Ferrari 456.

Such a gorgeous car, congratulations.
Same colour options as my V8 Vantage.

That look's gorgeous, definitely don't need to feel privileged or lucky though OP, you've worked hard and earnt the money, you deserve to spend it in any way you see fit.

Cheers for the positive comments

I'm 50/50 on the red calipers - I doubt I would spec them myself but whoever did paid extra for them - I've got the order list with the options all listed and they at additional cost!

Same goes for the rear lights - I quite like the red against the black although I do think the clear items look more modern - I think they cost about a grand? I think I'll keep the grand in the slush fund for servicing/repairs!

Anyway, more pics...

Cheers. Likewise white isn't my first choice but felt it suited the jag nicely

The clear lights look 'orrid imo and not at all befitting the car.

The red looks far better, again, imo.
