Hello all,

I bought my first TVR back in February, a lovely Cerebra, and the honeymoon lasted around 3 weeks before it became all TVRish.

Basically I drove it out of my garage (started fine, went into gear fine etc). I got out of the car and left it running, got back into it and it wouldn’t go into gear. I turned off and looked at the fluid, which was very low I topped it up and nothing happened (still no clutch). I then with the help of a friend had a go at bleeding it (the braided hose against the bulkhead?) lots of air kept coming without any improvement in the pedal.

Now interestingly before I picked the car up when I bought it back in Feb, it had a brand new slave fitted (with receipt from a specialist). So that would maybe count a slave problem out? Also since I topped it up the fluid hasn’t dropped and the floor of the garage isn’t soaked, although there is some ‘moisture’ on the underside of the car.

If anyone has any thoughts as to a possible cause that would be much appreciated!

If it was only done in Feb take it back to them.

Once sorted the love will outweigh any disappointments. My 'honeymoon' lasted 1 day with bent aircon pulley shaft, then slave failed after 3 months. Dealer (presuming trade sale) should sort this. Would suggest master cylinder is checked. Slave cylinder problem not entirely ruled out, as the problem with mine was actually scoring in the bell housing where the slave sits. I went for a remote slave which requires machining of bell housing and a Tilton conversion. Others may have more detailed tech advice. ATB and welcome to the madhouse!

Either slave or master cylinder or union loose, either way a cheap fix for you as any slave warranty takes care of the most expensive side of things.

Take it back.
