My occupation involves dealing with elderly folks and sometimes my efforts are blessed. 
I've looked after a garden for a client over the years and he has given up driving for the right reasons. He knows I'm a car guy and offered me his Audi. I told him to get a trade value and I would match it. His grandson said to offer it as a trade in against a car he fancied but garages were not interested. It's a 27k miles fsh Audi 1.6 petrol engine like it came out the factory.
