The powered tailgate on my wife's Evoque was open this morning. Not something we'd done. The car was locked, but the tailgate open. No sign of break in, but rather worrying as we carry our dog in the back.

Any ideas? Phantom opening? - it had been a very cold, sub zero night, with plenty of frost and ice in the morning, could this be a contributing factor? Or has someone tried to get, only to find a wet dog towel and moved onto the next target?

You sure nobody accidentally pushed the button on the key fob?

How old is it - Do you have the gesture tailgate option? Something like a cat walking under the car could have set the sensor off

If the car is near the house then it is possible someone had the key fob in their pocket and brushed against something solid. Mrs AD did that once.
