Hi Folks

Please excuse me because I'm about as technical as a rhino!

Recently bought a pc, got all the 'stuff' CD/DVD r writer etc.. As far as I know all software is sorted.

Now. I can download video clips (kazaa) and save into one of my files. I can then view it via media player - However it won;t allow me to burn it onto a disk. Music is fine, just videos (they do have sound etc when playing, and I am using a dvdr disk) I've tried via Nero but same again 'not compatible' or 'unknown error' Can anyone give me some advice? (In lame-mans terms!!)

Also, some video clips are 'blue'! how can I hide these from the kids? Can you password protect them or create a hidden file anywhere?

Big Al.

IIRC you will have to copy them in DATA mode and not audio.

If you are trying to create "proper" video DVDs then you need Nero Showtime, and Nero MPEG2-DVD plugin (i think that's what it's called) and you can then burn them with showtime.

Otherwise something like windows movie maker may do what you want. Or one of the miriad of video editing things like pinnacle, etc etc.

thanks forthe replies - don't have all the extra nero stuff - was hoping the package I bought was 'all in'!

Big Al - how do I change them from audio to data mode?

Also, does anyone know how to create a hidden file so the kids don't find our 'blue clips'!!?

right click on the file select 'properties', tick the hidden box.

(This assumes you have 'show hidden files' disabled in your settings.
