I have had a bridge for around the last 5 years. The glue keeps letting go. Last time it lasted almost 2 years but sometimes only lasts a couple of weeks.
Are there different adhesives that can be used?
The use UV light to set mine.
The brother in law has had a bridge for more than 25 years without ant trouble.

When it comes to bridges, the design of the bridge has the biggest factor on lifespan.
It sounds like you have a simple adhesive bridge, basically a fake tooth with a little metal wing. You use a resin cement to glue this to an adjacent tooth. These bridges can only really use this type of cement (its the only one strong enough). There are different manufacturers of these cements and some are better than others. Its also quite technique sensitive.
If it keeps coming out and the recementing has been done properly then it may be time to do something else with the space. There is the option of a more conventional bridge but that involves shaping a neighbouring tooth to accept it.
I would love to say it never happens but with the adhesive bridges you can get one from time to time that doesnt glue well. Ive seen a few that have been recemented by 3-4 different people and still come out.

Thanks very much for the input. You got it in one. Thei will be the fourth dentist at the practice that has had a try. It improves the success rate, but I have had re-etched bridges fail after a day and others un-etched last years. Theres a lot more factors involved including design of the bridge, the cement, the quality of the enamel your bonding to, the occlusion etc.Any other way never has a predictable success rate.
In an ideal world perhaps so, but for any anterior tooth it becomes an issue of having to wait for it to go to a laboratory. There was an article on this in a BDJ a short while back, most interesting was that preparation seemed to negatively effect success. I have had many a consultant recommend a groove to prevent shear stress when I was a student many years ago.

I would also say that depending on why it failed there may be loss of a "layer" on the fitting surface of the enamel, again reducing the quality of fit the more it happens.
I have never "grooved" such a bridge with the modern adhesives having always been of the opinion that the thinner the layer the better the strength.
Considering the frequency of failure in this case, I would recommend the "Lab Re-prep" the bridge in this case to maximise the chance of success. A good Lab could turn it around in 24 hours.
